T cells “highly sensitive” to CBD
CBD is an “attractive candidate” for helping treat a highly aggressive cancer that’s resistant to chemotherapy, according to an article in Cell Death and Disease (Oct. 2019).
T cells were “highly sensitive” to CBD, and the cancer cells’ ability to spread was “significantly suppressed,” it said.
Cervical and breast cancer cells were also examined, for comparison.
Among 10 different cell lines tested, the effect of CBD was the most pronounced in the leukemic cell lines.
Children and adults diagnosed with a type of acute lymphoblastic leukemia that involves T cells are not likely to live beyond five years.
The five-year survival rate is just 25%.
